Kate Oltmann is an artist based in North West Montana. She is known for her paintings and drawings inspired by the rugged beauty of the region and its iconic imagery. Oltmann's work explores the complexities and contradictions of the West, small scale family farming, and traditional women's work while evoking a sense of nostalgia. She has exhibited her work in galleries and museums across the United States and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the scholarship grant award for Chalk Hill Artist Residency and Creative Sonoma Award. 

Oltmann’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections including the Grants Pass Museum of Art, Grants Pass Oregon; Museum of the West, Cheyenne WY; Big Sky Arts Council, MT; and Yellowstone Art Museum, MT. 

Oltmann received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Sonoma State University in 2013 and received her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 and has been working as a professional artist for over 10 years.
