Jessica Layton is a San Francisco Bay Area-based photographer whose work explores scenes of environmental impact from the development and expansion in the Western United States. She received her MFA in Photography from Royal College of Art, London and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally at the Photographers’ Gallery (London, UK); Bunkier Sztuki (Krakow, Poland); Folkwang Museum (Essen, Germany); and Rayko (San Francisco, CA). She is the recipient of the European Leica Award and has completed residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris, France), the Wyspa Institute of Art (Gdansk, Poland) and Pepperwood's Dwight Center for Conservation Science (Santa Rosa, CA).
