This is a degree designed for students wishing to pursue additional graduate or professional study.
Students interested in this 138-unit program with 90 units of course work in art, must apply in the Fall semester for admission in the Spring Semester, or in the Spring for admission in the following Fall semester. To be considered for admission all lower division requirements must have been completed in both General Education and in Art, as well as a 3.00 G.P.A. in Art, which must be maintained through the program.
To apply, please submit a short statement of interest, 2 letters of recommendation, and supply 20 slides of your work. If selected for admission, you will have to ensure that 24 of your upper division studio units are completed at SSU. Your degree will culminate with a B.F.A. exhibition in the Spring which will be evaluated by the studio faculty. Your studio advisor and studio instructors can help you to determine if this is an appropriate direction for you to pursue.
