Sandra Jackson-Dumont Named New Director and CEO of Lucas Museum of Narrative Art
Sandra Jackson-Dumont was recognized by Sonoma State University as its Distinguished Alumnus in 2014, and she has indeed been distinguished in many ways since receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from SSU in 1994. Following her graduation from SSU, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
Sandra began her illustrious career as Head of School, Family, and Intergenerational Programs at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York in 1997, followed by increasingly significant positions at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Seattle Art Museum, where she was Deputy Director for Education and Public Programs and Adjunct Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. Between 2014 and 2019, Sandra was Chairman of Education at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In late 2019, Sandra was appointed Director and Chief Executive Officer of the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, founded by renowned film director George Lucas.
