Recent BFA graduate, Tess Hernandez, heads to NY for Artist Residency

Recent 2026 BFA graduate Tess Hernandez is heading to upstate New York for an exciting new creative opportunity at Salem Art Works Sculpture Park in Salem, New York. Tess will participate in the Artist Work Trade Residency, a program designed for artists working in sculpture and related studio practices.

During the residency, Tess will have access to a wide range of facilities and processes, including glassblowing, blacksmithing, ceramics, woodworking, printmaking, metalworking, painting, and more. The immersive environment will offer her the chance to experiment across disciplines, expand her material knowledge, and continue developing her artistic voice beyond graduation.

“I’ll be experimenting with everything,” Hernandez shared, reflecting her enthusiasm for the hands-on, exploratory nature of the residency.
